The Bed Project. 2002. Inkjet on Japanese paper, wood reed, lights. Each paper form is internally lit, and is 10 inches high and 7 inches in diameter.

For the installation, small fragments of plants were scanned, and transformed digitally. In the process, their identity was been lost, but patterns alluding to a certain universality have been gained. Two 'beds' are constructed from lit, paper domes printed with the patterns. The idea of the bed becomes a reference to beds we sleep on, riverbeds, flowerbeds, seedbeds and deathbeds. All of these have to do with regeneration and life emerging, all taking place in silence.

The Bed Project was exhibited at I-Space Gallery in Chicago in 2003, and at the New Art Center in Newtonville, MA, in 2004.
